Which class do I need?

HEALTHCARE EMPLOYEES

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Initial course- first time students

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Renewal course- returning students

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

K-12 EDUCATIONAL STAFF

  • Heartsaver K-12 CPR/AED

    The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools course completion card was created to provide a cost-effective Heartsaver course completion card for K-12 school systems. K-12 cards may be issued for all Heartsaver courses taught in elementary, middle, junior high, and high schools. This card may be issued to the schools’ students, faculty, and staff.

    This course covers Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver CPR AED, or Heartsaver First Aid Course which includes topics such as First aid basics, Medical emergencies, Injury emergencies, Environmental emergencies, Preventing illness and injury, Adult CPR and AED use, Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies and optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR.

    If you are a student, staff member or faculty member of a K-12 school this may be the class for you. This course covers all the standard classes offered in the Heartsaver programs just offered at a discounted price. These classes are usually offered as part of a contract between a school and training center, so be sure to check with your employer to see if they have a class available.

  • Heartsaver CPR/AED/First aid

    This course is for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful course completion, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.
